Lead Data Analyst, Strategic Finance at MakerDAO 

The Strategic Finance Core Unit’s mandate is to provide the DAO with financial reporting and analysis to assist in evaluating the financial health of the protocol to enable strategic decision making and allocate capital more effectively. 

As the Lead Data Analyst, you will lead the creation and development of real-time dashboards and queries built on top of the blockchain, leveraging their innate immutability and transparent nature to provide trusted financial and business insights for the MakerDAO.  

By developing robust financial reporting and creating business and key performance indicators, you will drive improvements in business outcomes. You’ll need to work cross-functionally across the DAO, collaborating with Data Insights, Growth, Governance, and Engineering teams. 

Responsibilities 

• Lead creation and building of analytics models and systems that help scale our insights more broadly, both throughout the DAO and directly in the product
• We expect you to demonstrate clear communication, strong desire to execute and best-in-class craftsmanship 
• Measure business performance, develop core metrics and create dashboards to track and understand them in support of our quarterly strategic reviews
• Identify data, metrics and analyses needs for business partners; Initiate, develop and maintain data pipelines and data models that powers dashboards and data products with outstanding craftsmanship
• Perform deep analyses and build models to understand customer behavior, and extract key insights that impact product decisions
• Synthesize data learnings into compelling stories and communicate them to various stakeholders
• Act as a strategic partner to Core Units; initiate and execute on data-driven analyses to help prioritize opportunities and provide actionable recommendations
• Work across multiple subject matter experts to drive new data initiatives, automation of reports, establish best practices and mentor junior members in the team
• Lead analytics projects to completion
• Work with the Data team to find ways to scale our insights through better systems and automation

Requirements 

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field 
• 3+ years of experience with analytics or business analysis 
• Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau or similar BI tools)
• Proven SQL proficiency also including advanced features (windowing functions, subqueries) 
• Experience manipulating large amounts of structured and unstructured data
• Ability to clearly communicate insights (in verbal and written form) to a broad variety of audiences 
• Strong organizational skills, strong attention to detail and experience balancing multiple tasks and deadlines, strong attitude to work in self organizing and autonomous way 
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment 
• Bonus: familiarity with MakerDAO and Dune Analytics
