What is DeFi?

DeFi (Decentralized Finance) is a democratized alternative to the current system CeFi (Centralized Financial), where individuals can take control of their finances without the cost and risks of relying on intermediaries.

What is SmartDeFi?

SmartDeFi is an easy to use, non-custodial investment app which fulfills the needs of traditional investors who want to make their first DeFi investments, but don’t understand the risks involved or how to take the first steps.

Job Description:

SmartDeFi has recently closed Pre-seed funding and will be launching an MVP iOS app in Q1 2022.

The MVP app is built on Idle Finance (DeFi Protocol); Gnosis Safe (Multisig Wallet); Polygon Network (Layer 2 Aggregator); Wyre (Fiat On-ramp); and Torus Labs (Web3 Login).

SmartDeFi is hiring an Accountant for part-time with plans to move to full-time at scale. This is a ground floor opportunity at a funded Web3 startup.

Job Details:

• Design and implement accounting systems and best practices for bank accounts and crypto wallets
• Create systems for the day-to-day financial operations within the company (payroll, invoicing, and all other transactions)
• Onboard and supervise a bookkeeper for the day-to-day operations
• Manage and comply with local and government reporting requirements and tax filings
• Advise or be a point of contact for tax and equity related matters
• Audit previous financial transactions and documents, create systems moving forward
• Maintain an accurate filing and record-keeping system for all financial statements and company documents
• Create financial projections, forecasting and revenue models

Requirements:

• You have a CPA or Master’s degree
• 5+ years experience in finance and/or accounting positions
• Experience in early-stage startups, consumer-facing products, blockchain or cryptocurrency
• Experience or proficient knowledge of Ethereum blockchain, cryptocurrencies and wallets

Compensation:

• Part time with plans to move full time at scale
• Hourly rate TBD based on experience
